Evonik’s Greensboro Site Works Over 1.3 Million Hours Without Lost Time Accident

Employees At North Carolina Plant Praised For Achieving Safety Milestone

Employees at Evonik Stockhausen, LLC’s Greensboro, North Carolina, plant are celebrating more than 1.3 million hours without a lost time injury – an accomplishment that didn't happen by accident.

Helping employees stay focused on safety is fundamental to Evonik Stockhausen’s success, said Dr. Reinhold Brand, president of Evonik Stockhausen, LLC.

“Evonik Stockhausen places the highest priority on safety,” Brand continued. “We work closely with all our employees to develop a work culture where safety is key. Safety is crucial, not only for the people involved in our daily operations, but also for greater efficiency, productivity and profitability.”

The 1.3 million accident-free hours reflect a personal commitment by each employee to work safely, said Dieter Bettinger, Evonik Greensboro site manager. “Our employees have a tremendous level of skill and professionalism,” said Bettinger. “This achievement is a true testament to the collaborative efforts of each and every Evonik employee at Greensboro. At Evonik Stockhausen, we are proud of not only our commitment to health, environment and safety but to excellence in quality and productivity as well.”

Working more than 1.3 million hours without a lost time accident is a remarkable achievement, said Russell B. Mait, director, Environmental Health Safety & Quality for Evonik’s North America Consumer Specialties unit. "We achieved this safety record because of a high degree of commitment, competency and care,” Mait added. “By working together we've achieved a tremendous safety record in Greensboro."
