At this year’s In-Cosmetics in Milan, Italy, Evonik’s Business Unit Inorganic Materials and its distributor Azelis introduced a new and novel technology that could revolutionize applications for color cosmetics, skin and sun care, as well as hair styling products. While "cream-to-powder" is known to the industry for some time, "powder-to cream" turns the concept around completely.
Developed and refined by the experts at Evonik’s Technical Service Laboratories in Piscataway (New Jersey, USA), this modified silica based system has produced spectacular results and with real innovative, commercial and practical applications. Free-flowing powders turn into liquid creams instantly, upon application. It is also possible to create emulsions with outstanding skin feel using this brand new technology.
Taking the concept one stage further Evonik worked in partnership with the specialists in the Azelis Applications Laboratories in the UK to develop a flexible formulator’s toolbox that will give personal care manufacturers the opportunity to create a myriad of different products from one set of base building blocks.
Following the overwhelmingly positive response at the In-Cosmetics in Milan, Powder-to-Cream will be introduced to the North American cosmetics industry at the NYSCC Supplier’s Day on May 10-11, 2011, New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center, Raritan Center, Edison, New Jersey.
