Evonik Cyro Donates Over $3,000 To Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad

PARSIPPANY, N.J., January 21, 2011

Evonik Cyro LLC has donated more than $3,000 to the Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad, an organization that provides free emergency care to the sick and injured in Parsippany.

Such corporate citizenship is the cornerstone of Evonik Cyro’s operations, said John Rolando, President of Evonik Performance Polymers North America, which is why Performance Polymers’ management supported the donation of funds to the Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad.

“These dedicated volunteers annually donate tens of thousands of hours of service for the protection and care of our neighbors,” said Rolando. “The Squad is a nonprofit volunteer service dedicated to providing high quality emergency medical care to the residents of Parsippany.”

As a volunteer-driven organization, the Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad relies on a wealth of resources to keep members, the Parsippany community and the general public informed about emergency response, safety and the community.

“24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Squad dedicates its efforts to saving lives, delivering quality emergency medical services and providing community education and safety,” said Rolando.

Betsy Lowry, president of the Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad, said members were extremely pleased by Evonik Cyro’s significant donation.

“Evonik Cyro’s generous contribution will go a long way to helping us with our daily mission to serve the people of Parsippany,” she added. “Evonik has been a strong supporter of the Squad for years and we appreciate it. The company’s generosity will make a huge difference in the lives of so many residents. In these difficult economic times, donations such as this one from Evonik Cyro are critical to our operations."

The Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad house is at 397 Parsippany Road. All members are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and most are EMT (Emergency Medical Technicians) and defibrillator certified.

The Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad has three fully equipped ambulances and a First Responder Truck, used to provide support to the Squad’s ambulances and transportation for members.
