Company Continues Local Community Outreach, Support In Magnolia

Evonik Foams, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Evonik Degussa Corporation, has donated $1,000 and insulation materials to Abilities Unlimited, a local non-profit community organization in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Abilities Unlimited employs adults with developmental disabilities at a facility that is the primary source for cardboard, electronics and furniture recycling in Magnolia and surrounding areas.

Abilities Unlimited Program Supervisor Richard Metzelaars said that the organization was incredibly grateful for the donation and noted that Evonik Foams has been a tremendous asset to the organization’s efforts in promoting recycling within the community as well as aiding those with special needs.

“Evonik’s contribution and commitment to our organization is astounding and helps us a lot,” says Metzelaars. “It creates a great sense of trust within the community of Magnolia knowing that the company shows such dedication to us and the environment. I look forward to their continued support.”

Evonik Foams has a long history of providing aid to community endeavors in Magnolia. One of the company’s previous initiatives included a cardboard drive launched by Evonik Foams in cooperation with Abilities Unlimited. The program encouraged increased recycling and prevention of dumping wastes into landfills in Magnolia and nearby areas.

“We’re very proud to support the great work of Abilities Unlimited,” said Dan Sutton, Evonik Foams’ Site Manager. “Protecting the environment is a major concern within our company. It is part of our commitment to a strong partnership between ourselves and the community of Magnolia.”

Evonik Foams’ products include polyimide foam insulation and duct liner used in aerospace, marine and industrial projects around the world. These environmentally friendly products offer superior fire resistance, excellent sound absorption and the ability to insulate in demanding environments with temperatures ranging from minus 320 degrees Fahrenheit up to 575 degrees Fahrenheit.
