Evonik Corporation Donates $1,500 To Waterford Town Police Department
Funds To Be Used To Purchase Tactical Portable Radio Equipment
Evonik Corporation, which has a facility in Waterford, N.Y., has donated $1,500 to the Waterford Town Police Department to purchase 12 tactical earpieces for portable radios used by the police officers.
“We are very grateful to Evonik Corporation for this generous donation,” said John Tanchak, public safety commissioner at Waterford Town Police Department. “Currently, each police officer carries a radio equipped with an external speaker microphone. Anyone in the immediate area of the officer can hear the radio transmission, which gives away the officer’s position. The tactical ear piece will allow only the officers to hear the radio transmission giving them the advantage of entering a location without alerting anyone.”
Kevin Jordan, manager of Evonik Corporation’s site in Waterford, N.Y., praised the hard work and dedication of the Waterford Town Police Department’s personnel to maintain the community’s safety.
“The efforts of the police officers in this community are very commendable,” said Jordan. “Public safety is critical for our residents. We wholeheartedly support the Waterford Town Police Department in protecting our citizens and our way of life. Our workers have a sense of security because of these efforts. We know we can count on the men and women who risk their lives to serve our community.
