Former Process Engineer’s Expertise Fits Company’s Focus On Safety
Evonik Canada Inc. has named Diana Dascalescu as the new manager of the company’s Maitland site, which has gone more than 26 years without a lost time accident.
“Diana is an excellent choice for this position and will help Evonik maintain this successful safety trend,” said Jack Chenault, vice president and general manager for Evonik Corporation’s Active Oxygens Business Line. “Diana has more than 17 years of manufacturing industry experience and she brings expertise in the implementation of safety management programs to her new role.”
While at industrial paint and coatings manufacturer Valspar Corporation, Dascalescu implemented numerous programs as part of a process safety management initiative including mechanical integrity, preventive maintenance, contractor safety, emergency response and incident investigation.
“I’m very excited to join the Evonik team,” Dascalescu said. “Going more than 26 years without a lost time accident is a tremendous achievement and speaks volumes of the site employees’ commitment to safety. I’m thrilled to join this work culture.”
Dascalescu holds a Master of Science degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemical engineering from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University in Iaşi, Romania.

Decomposing to yield only oxygen and water, hydrogen peroxide is one of the cleanest, most versatile chemicals available.
