Since 1988, members of the American Chemistry Council have significantly improved their environmental, health, safety and security performance through the global Responsible Care initiative implemented in the United States. In the United States, adherence to Responsible Care principles has resulted in a 75 percent reduction in emissions and an employee safety record that is four and a half times better than the U.S. manufacturing sector average.
